01 · The Approach

No salespeople.
Three worries removed.

Homeowners told us they often felt uncomfortable dealing with salespeople, because a salesperson gets paid based on how much you buy. So we eliminated the role. Here is what that takes off the table.

Salespeople employed
  1. 01Eliminated

    Overspending

Reliance Roof Pros Technicians do not get paid based on how much you spend, so there is no incentive to sell you more than what you need. If a simple repair is what your roof needs right now, that is what will be recommended.

  2. 02Eliminated

    Surprise charges

Our Roof Technicians thoroughly inspect and photograph your roof, attic and overall building envelope. You get the findings and a detailed proposal before the project starts, not after the roof has been torn off.

  3. 03Eliminated

    Overselling the crew

Roof Technicians are trained to diagnose the problem and specify what production needs. They stay involved every step of the way, so what you agreed to is exactly what is installed.

04 · The Climate

Portland roofs need
more than a standard approach.

Sustained moisture and heavy shade make moss and algae the defining roofing issue here. These are the common problems we fix in Portland and Oregon City homes.

  1. i.

    Moss and algae growth

A long wet season and tree-shaded roofs create ideal conditions for moss and algae, especially on north-facing slopes. Left untreated, moss traps moisture against the roof surface.

  2. ii.

    Cedar shake deterioration

Cedar needs a proper drying cycle to hold up. Our wet season does not always allow that, which is why splitting, cupping and rot show up more here than in drier climates.

  3. iii.

    Clogged gutters

Gutters fill with needles and leaves faster than homeowners expect. A clogged gutter in the rainy season can mean water backing up under the roofline.

  4. iv.

    Poor attic ventilation

Trapped moisture under the roof deck contributes to condensation, mold risk and material breakdown from the inside out.

  5. v.

    Failed flashing

Most of the leaks we find are not from one dramatic storm. They are the slow result of moss damage, aging flashing or gutter backup.

Tony
Homeowner · Roof rebuilt after storm damage

“You could tell they had their act together right from the get-go.”

Tony, on the installation crew

A tree fell on Tony’s house during a storm and punctured his 30-year-old tile roof. Reliance Roof Pros stripped the roof back to the plywood, replaced weakened boards and rebuilt it with shingles.
